“Then I’ll go with you! I don’t trust them and I’m sure as hell not going to let you go with him by yourself!” he argued, shaking his head in frustration, his fists balling, knuckles cracking.

She shook her head, looking down at the grass below her feet, her eyes catching glimpses of light shining through. She bit her lip, trying her best to stay strong as Lefiya stared down at her, waiting for her to reply and break the uncomfortable silence.
“I’m going.” his eyes widened, a look of betrayal and hurt taking over his face, “I’m sorry Lefiya, but I must go. The answers to everything are with him.”

Everything was falling apart, his heart seeming to have been severed, falling into the pit of his stomach as his throat became dry and rough. She couldn’t leave with him! He would hurt her, take control of her, kill her. He looked to the ground, knowing that all of this would come to an end. All the years he had spent protecting her, keeping her away from harm’s way, especially after her father passed away, would be for nothing. She had no one now except for him and a few of her friends. But her friends were unable to protect her like he could. He knew if she went, he would probably never see her again. In a corrupt world as this, he was her only shield and she was about to go unarmed and unprotected.

“What if you don’t come back?” he whispered.

Miaku thought for a moment, his question running deep within the wheels of her mind. She knew there was a possibility she wouldn’t see him again, more so that she would be killed. But she had to find out the truth. She had to know what the thing sleeping inside of her was capable of doing. Looking up to him, she leaned forward, pressing her lips against his warm cheek in a soft and gentle chaste kiss. “Then remember me this way.”

A scene from one of my original stories. I was listening to some instrumental music the other day from final Fantasy VII when I was writing, and this scene got stuck in my head. So, I drew it. I tried my best at realism, but I know there's a lot of errors. Miaku's face looks horrible and Lefiya looks like a toothpick. XD And the shading isn't all that great. =.=; But I like it, so I posted it.
